Green Horizon announce their next accessible trip to the forest
Following on from our last two successful forest trips, Green Horizon made the following announcement:
‘Green Horizon are pleased to announce that their next event in association with Kitaba will take place on Saturday 17 and Sunday 18 March, insh’Allah. As before, a limited amount of transport will be provided from Glasgow (Central Mosque) and Edinburgh (Blackhall mosque) – leaving at 9am and arriving at Wiston Lodge, near Biggar, at 10am.
Sheikh Abdul Aziz will again give us a presentation, this time on companionship, and we will also have some discussion on the environment and how to save the planet. The afternoon will be mainly for chilling out and playing, with archery amongst the planned activities. We will stay overnight at Wiston Lodge (we have the Lodge and cabins) and spend Sunday outdoors (programme to be finalised), aiming to return to Glasgow and Edinburgh in the afternoon.
Food will be provided starting with lunch on Saturday until breakfast/lunch on Sunday – the meals will be vegetarian.
Accommodation; ladies will be in the main lodge with most of the men in the cabins.
The Forestry Commission through Romena Huq have kindly sponsored the event and so there will be no charge for the weekend. However I’m sure you’ll appreciate that there is a considerable cost associated with the transport, accommodation and food so please DO NOT reserve a place if you are not sure that you can make it – if you pull out it deprives others of a place.
Places are limited and if we exceed our capacity we will have a stand-by list.
If you would like to attend please email firstname.lastname@example.org with:
1. Names of adults and children (please provide child’s age)
3. Whether you need a lift from Glasgow or Edinburgh
4. If you would like to share a room with someone please let me know and we’ll see what we can do (no guarantees!)
5. Whether you have any other requirements
Please bring along with you:
A prayer mat
Waterproof clothes and shoes
